As part of my project at Central Saint Martins, I undertook a research-based exploration of the graphic and sensorial qualities of childhood pop-up books. Drawing on Gaston Bachelard’s reflections on memory and spatial imagination, the work examined how unregistered shapes and unconventional volumes can be reinterpreted as sites of narrative and embodied interaction.
